Movie About A Young Jerry In The Works

musicradar.com (yeah, me neither) is reporting that a few guys have bought the rights to make a movie about the young Jerry Garcia before the Grateful Dead. No word on timelines and they have no screenwriter attached to the project but I’d be most interested in seeing who will play Garcia. My guess is that this won’t have a real budget for anyone famous but you never know, maybe some rich actor/deadhead will do it as a labor of love.

What do you think? Is a young Jerry Garcia an interesting enough character to make a movie about? I mean, we all love Jerry but please give some high-tension, in-fighting, drug-crazed, mid-70′s Grateful Dead action on the big screen! I hear that’s in the works too and I believe the band is actually involved with that one.
