When you reach a certain point in your career, they ask you to do cool stuff like write the score to a volcano eruption; even if that volcano erupts once an hour, every hour, on the Vegas Strip. Such is the life for Mickey Hart and his brother-in-percussion, Zakir Hussain.

The Mirage is currently overhauling their world-famous volcano and part of the upgrades will include a new score written exclusively for the Mirage by Mickey and Zakir. Expect to see the upgrades and new score later this year.

I’m not really sure how much score work Mickey has done, last i recall him and Billy did the Apocolypse Now soundtrack under their Rhythm Devils moniker and the Dead did the theme for one of the numerous Twilight Zone incarnations.
